BOPP, or biaxially oriented polypropylene film, performs well between 120°C and 150°C. It’s excellent for heat sealing. This is perfect for high-temperature settings. It works well for special products and foods that require sealing at these levels. Therefore, it must have ultra-high mechanical strength and printing performance.

Why are heat-sensitive applications increasingly opting for heat-resistant BOPP film over other options? Ordinary BOPP film resists heat only up to about 100°C. In contrast, heat-resistant BOPP film uses a special formula. It includes heat-resistant additives and goes through a unique stretching process. It not only improves heat resistance but also significantly improves heat-sealing performance.

BOPP film can be used for heat sealing. However, this is limited to heat-resistant BOPP film, as ordinary BOPP film has very poor heat sealing performance. The heat sealing temperature of heat-resistant BOPP film can reach 150 °C.

The melting point of BOPP usually ranges from 160 to 170°C. Different BOPP films can have different melting points. This depends on the polypropylene mix and any additives used. Melting causes the structure to lose stability. To improve high-temperature resistance, you can add heat-resistant additives. In practical applications, its melting point is lower, and deformation will occur at a temperature of 150°C.
