Acrylic/PVDC-coated BOPP films
Acrylic/PVDC-coated BOPP films combine a biaxially oriented polypropylene base with acrylic coating on one or both sides, or PVDC on one side. The coating improves heat-sealing performance, moisture and aroma barrier properties, printability, and packaging-line efficiency. Typical uses include food, pharmaceutical, cosmetic, printing, and other flexible-packaging applications.
Typical Specifications:
- Width: 35 to 48 inches, metric 2000
- Thickness: 104, 124, 140, 164, 204 Gauge, metric 20 to 50 microns
- Roll OD: 26.30 in; core ID: 6 in
Product Details of Acrylic/PVDC-coated BOPP films
Designed for high-speed form-fill-seal lines, acrylic/PVDC-coated BOPP film provides reliable hot tack, aroma retention, and moisture resistance. Available thicknesses range from 20–50 μm, with customized widths up to 2,000 mm for different converting and packaging requirements.
Three types of coated BOPP films are available: single-sided acrylic-coated, double-sided acrylic-coated, and acrylic + PVDC films.
- Transparent barrier film (single-sided acrylic): It’s made from BOPP. One side has an acrylic coating, and the other side has a special treatment.
- Transparent barrier film: This double-sided acrylic is made from BOPP. It is clear on both sides and has an acrylic coating.
- Transparent barrier film (acryl + PVDC): This film is transparent and built on BOPP. One side has an acrylic coating, while the other side features a PVDC coating.
Properties:
Coated films are easy to work with. They run smoothly at high speeds in automatic packaging machines. They also have excellent processability.
Great heat sealability. The film’s low-threshold design means it works at lower temperatures. It protects foods sensitive to heat, like low-temperature items and chocolates. It quickly reaches the heat seal start temperature.
The coating helps retain aroma while limiting moisture and oxygen transfer. This supports product freshness, reduces odor migration between packaged goods, and can help extend shelf life when the film is matched to the product and sealing process.
Advantages:
- High transparency
- Good gloss
- Low ceiling threshold
- Humidity resistance
- Water and moisture resistance.
- Good aesthetics
- Solvent-free coating
- Good barrier properties.
- Good heat-sealing properties
